The Bush Lodge offers a classic East African safari experience right within Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most wildlife-rich reserves. Designed around ecological principles, the lodge blends naturally into the surrounding bush and savannah, giving guests an authentic wilderness stay where animals — from hippos and elephants to antelope and colourful birdlife — are frequent visitors around camp. Its location on the southbanks of the Kazinga Channel means panoramic views, unforgettable game-drive opportunities, and wildlife sounds filling the air at dawn and dusk.
The property centres on 12 self-contained bandas built on raised wooden platforms with traditional canvas and indigenous materials, offering a rustic-yet-comfortable safari retreat. The huge mosquito-netted windows provide wide views of the wilderness and seasonal Kamera River. Each banda has an en-suite bathroom and a cosy private terrace perfect for enjoying the scenery or relaxing after a long day on safari.
Meals are served in a large dining tent overlooking the Kazinga Channel and, where weather allows, under the stars next to a campfire — a unique way to enjoy a multi-course dinner amid wildlife sounds. The lodge also offers early breakfast options, packed lunches, and tailored arrangements for game drives, boat cruises, chimp trekking at Kyambura Gorge, and other park activities.
